Endsleigh Hotel is situated in one of the most beautiful valleys in Devon with a salmon river at the bottom of its green landscaped gardens created by Humphry Repton, a short 15 minute drive from Tavistock the hotel which is owned by Olga Polizzi and is a grade 1 listed building offers much more than just a place to stay.
Gardens, Fishing, Shooting, Falconry, Cinema and Theatre, just some of the things to do here and you can attend all these without being a hotel guest, simply check out the ‘whats on feature’ on their website and book yourself in!
‘The Afternoon Tea’ I can fully recommend, finger sandwiches, cakes, freshly baked cream scones and jam, over 12 types of loose leaf tea and a selection of Italian coffee, replenished whenever you need it, a pure delight and a ‘must see and taste’ when visiting Tavistock.
Built in 1812 for the Duke of Bedford as a hunting lodge, the hotel interior keeps the feeling of grandeur, the reception has an old full Ordnance map of Devon on the wall, wood panelling, the sitting room and library a delight to sit in. The service is friendly and inviting, nothing is too much trouble, parking is right outside the hotel which is in its own secluded grounds.
