Carolyn Eisenhart Figlioli passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2021. Carolyn was born in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania. She was the eldest daughter of Edwin K. and Caroline Eisenhart. She grew up in Bangor, Pennsylvania, where her father was a town pharmacist. Carolyn fondly recalled memories of her father making medicine with mortar and pestle and the soda fountain in the family pharmacy. Carolyn had many longtime friends from Bangor, including her AKA girlfriends “The 2nd Street Gang” who enjoyed playing neighborhood softball before organizing girls’ teams. Carolyn graduated from Bangor High School in 1952. She studied nursing at NJ College for Women (now Douglass College of Rutger’s University) before transferring to Bucknell University. She enjoyed participating in the college marching band, and in 1957 graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Bucknell. She was employed as a research biologist at Laros Company in Bethlehem, PA. Carolyn married Robert A. Figlioli in 1958 and moved with him to Florida where Robert worked at the Kennedy Space Center. They made their home in beautiful Cocoa Beach where they loved raising their four children. Carolyn was a member of the Cocoa Beach Junior Women’s Club and the Eastern Star, a Gray Lady at Freedom 7 Elementary School and a leader for Cubs and Girl Scouts. Carolyn supported and encouraged her children’s activities including rappelling programs, field trips and participating in sporting events until she finally became a die-hard college football fan thanks to Auburn University. . She loved traveling for family tours and fun destinations all over the world, including Hawaii, Alaska, Egypt, Thailand, China, and Europe. Carolyn was up to date with news from the community and in constant contact with her longtime friends in the area. Carolyn is survived by two daughters, Karen Zamonis, and Linda Farragher, wife of Liam, two sons Robert Figlioli, husband of Yourly, and Scott Figlioli, husband of Jessie, one sister, Dorothy Secor, wife of Donald, and 15 grandsons children and 6 great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful grandmother who never forgot a birthday, a loving mother who is not afraid to give her opinion and a faithful friend to many, Carolyn will be sadly missed by those who love her. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday December 20, 2021 at St. John’s Cemetery, Broadway and S. 6th St., Bangor, PA. Online condolences can be offered at gaffneyparsons.com
