Police Scotland Sergeant Murray Legge also urged people to come forward to help locate the 37-year-old.

The officer said: “As time goes on, Dean’s family worry more and more about him.

“We have conducted a number of investigations and now have CCTV footage of him, so we know what he was wearing shortly before his disappearance.

“We think he could have traveled outside the region and would ask anyone in Edinburgh or beyond to look after him.

“He’s likely to get around on foot or by bus.

“If you know Dean, we want to talk to you – think about it, when was the last time you heard from him?”

“We urge anyone with any information to come forward.”

Anyone with information on Dean’s whereabouts is urged to call the police on 101, citing incident number 2238 as of Friday, December 31.
