Many people like to sit and relax by the lake during the spring and summer months, which makes Lake Houses an ideal vacation destination.
There are over 480,000 lakes in the United States and figuring out where to find a lakeside home takes some research, but one of the best places to buy a lakeside home might be right in your backyard.
Gilford is home to Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire’s largest lake. The lake covers 72 square miles of water and is surrounded by numerous mountain ranges.
The median rental income in Gilford is $29,533 and the median listing price is $518,389.
Gilford is your classic lakeside town, cruises, jet skis and summer fireworks, but also offers added perks like an 8,000 seat amphitheater hosting summer concerts, Gunstock Mountain Resort, breweries and museums.
Although prices are higher than in other lakeside towns, most homes are located on the waterfront and offer stunning views of the lake.
“Of course, you will also find homes well above the median list price. These multimillion-dollar properties have extra-luxury perks like covered docks for two to three boats and expansive acreage with additional plots of land to build on,” Elolve said in a new report.
