Police are appealing for information and witnesses regarding a fire at a building in Portrush.
Sergeant McCrystal said: ‘Shortly before 9.20pm yesterday, Monday August 8, officers received and responded to a report of a fire at the Dunluce Center at Sandhill Drive in the city.
“Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene and managed to put out the fire, which damaged a play area inside the building.
“Fortunately, there was no one inside the premises at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported.
“It is believed at this stage that the fire started after access to the building was gained through a vent on the ground floor.
“Our investigations into this incident, which we are treating as arson, are ongoing, and we are calling on anyone who may have information that could help us, or who has witnessed suspicious activity in the area at this time. there, to contact 101, and quote the reference number 2014 of 08/08/22.
