Police ask for information after an aggravated burglary which saw a man assaulted in the town of Derbyshire


Police are asking anyone with information to come forward to help their investigation.

At around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, two men broke into a Porter Street apartment in Staveley and assaulted a 39-year-old man who resides at the address.

The men then went to a bedroom and grabbed a 25-year-old woman, forcing her out of the apartment and into a white Seat Ibiza that was waiting outside.

Officers located the car and two men, aged 23 and 28, were arrested in connection with the incident. They remain in custody.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of a hand injury.

Detectives are treating this as an isolated incident and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened, or who may have installed private CCTV or dash cam nearby that may have captured the incident. .
