A New England town just landed on Travel + Leisure magazines 11 best cities in the country to retire.
The travel publication this year published the list of The 11 Best Cities to Retire in the United States Saturday to help future retirees to struggle with their question of where to settle, and Manchester, New Hampshire made the cut.
With input from several sources, the magazine said it considers basic criteria such as affordability, weather, tax structure, availability of healthcare, social activities and safety when making final choices.
According to Travel + Leisure, Manchester is a seasonal stunner.
âAnother destination for seasonal weather enthusiasts, this city is surrounded by mountains, forests and stunning views,â the publication writes. âThe area receives over five feet of snow each year, so winter sports enthusiasts will have plenty to do. The fall foliage here, it’s spectacular, and in summer, the beaches are less than an hour away. Shopping at the farmer’s market and cheering on local high school football teams and professional sports clubs creates a sense of community.
While four Florida cities topped the list, the magazine’s picks also included cities in Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Texas.
