Your city-by-city guide to Trick-Or-Treating at JS in 2020

Say it with me: “Trick or Treat!” …. you know, only 6 feet away.

We’re less than 48 hours from Halloween, and towns on the Jersey Shore are putting together their own hours, rules, and other safety protocols.

We’ve already put together a few different articles telling you which cities have Halloween events: CLICK HERE and CLICK HERE.

But now it’s time to talk about the rules of every Jersey Shore town when it comes to trick-or-treating. But to make a long story short, there are plenty of places you can still go looking for some Halloween candy.

Things may look and work a little different, but remember there will always be chocolate.

So take a look at all the opportunities you and your family have to do with some candy or a spell this coming weekend.

Monmouth County

Allentown PLEASE NOTE, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER. Call (609) 208-0544 for an update on this event -> Thursday October 29 is “Witches night 2020“which starts at 9:00 PM. You must pay to participate in this event.

Asbury Park – An outdoor Halloween drive-thru event is scheduled for Saturday, October 31 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm For more information, call Leesha Floyd at (732) 502-5759.

– The Paranormal Museum, House of Independents, Parlor Gallery and Asbury Park Business Committee are hosting a Jack-O ‘Lantern Festival at Kennedy Park on Friday, October 30. Tickets are available online.

Bradley Beach – The city’s fire department is organizing a Halloween parade on Friday, October 30 from 6 p.m. at the fire station. The parade will end at Riley Park.

Fair Haven – Halloween celebrations can go as planned as long as they follow CDC guidelines.

Farmingdale – The hours for the trick-or-treat have been predefined by the city to take place on Saturday October 31 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Homes wishing to participate should have lights on outside or hang signage so that it is clear to deceivers.

Freehold – This town allows celebrations to go as planned as long as CDC guidelines are followed.

According to NJ.com, writes the city, “Halloween can go smoothly, keeping in mind that personal safety related to the pandemic should be practiced wherever possible. The city committee believes that parents can certainly decide which Halloween activities are best for their children. “

Long branch – Trick-or-treat is acceptable in this city, but a list of rules is posted on their website. Some of them include:

– Limit the number of people in your trick-or-treat group

– Coordinate a system so that trick-or-treaters know which houses are participating

-Offer individually wrapped candies that treat lovers can grab and take without having to reach for a large shared bowl.

Manalapan – There is nothing wrong with neighbor making treats on Halloween in this city. Please hang up signage so trick-or-treaters know if you are participating.

There are also two drive-in drives that take place on October 28 (Hotel Transylvania 3) and October 29 (Poltergeist). Sign up online before attending.

Ocean County

Bay head – Sweets will be allowed until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday October 31. Please use signs or lights to indicate if you are attending the celebrations. CLICK HERE and scroll down for some flyer options that have been provided by the city!

Beach wood – The designated opening hours for this city are 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. FYI: There is a 9 p.m. curfew on October 30 and 31.

Like many other towns on the Jersey Shore, authorities require you to use signs or lights to indicate if you are attending Halloween celebrations.

“Residents who do not want to participate are encouraged to turn off their front light, close their front door and / or place a sign in front of the house. Residents who wish to participate, please leave your porch lights on ”, said Mayor Maurice B. Hill and Police Chief Mitch Little.
